I teach political philosophy at Sabancı University.
My research lies at the intersection of political philosophy, social epistemology and philosophy of science. I am interested in how social structures shape what we come to know and how what we know influences our opportunities for flourishing and exercising agency as free and equal citizens.
I am currently co-authoring a book with Gürol Irzık, provisionally titled Justice in the Distribution of Knowledge, under contract with Oxford University Press.
In 2024, I was awarded the British Academy’s Brian Barry Prize for my paper "Learning From the Enemies of Freedom: Freedom of Expression and Collective Power".
I received my DPhil in Political Theory from the University of Oxford. Before that, I completed an MA in Political Philosophy at the University of York, and a BA in International Relations at Koç University.
